All our projects are interlinked within The Bush Babies Program. Holistic vision and practice is at the core of all that we do.
Conservation Lessons
We work in 10 rural schools in Ba-Phalaborwa area. Classroom lessons are conducted every day and last for 1 academic hour. All lessons are incorporated into the official school curriculum.
Scouts
The Bush Babies are part of Scouts South Africa. Every Friday we welcome children at our Bush Babies Environmental Education Centre where Scouts activities are implemented.
Animal Welfare
'The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.' - Mahatma Gandhi -
Environmental Monitoring
One skill that everyone should have these days is to be conscious of our own actions to make better decisions. We would like our children to learn how to identify environmental problems in their villages and take action to solve them and prevent them further.
Bush Grannies
Matriarchs are the wisdom of the communities, strongest pillars of the households in rural South Africa. We see value in engaging elderly people in environmental activities, thus amplifying our holistic multi-generational approach to conservation.
Bush Camps
Learning outdoors is educational and always fun. For hands-on experience we take The Bush Babies kids and Bush Grannies to Ekuthuleni Bush Camp, Koru Camp, Kruger Park, and HERD.
Conservation as a Career
Choose the Planet
Growing up, many local children dream to be police officers, miners or do not know what they want to be. Environmental Education helps the students learn about the variety of professions within the Environmental Sector to choose from after grade 12.
